A Nexus Of Expertise ​

Part research lab, part game studio, part software foundation, part center of excellence - Frameshifter takes a holistic, cross-disciplinary, and multi-faceted approach, with expertise across science, software and technology, hybrid intelligence, user experience and human-centered design, games, media, community development, and beyond.

Origins ​

Frameshifter was established in 2025 by the core developers of the Eterna scientific discovery game to sustain and scale its work. We aim for Eterna to be a foundation and model to engage the public across the scientific enterprise.
